Father’s Day celebration at Be Hope Church with special speaker, Eddie Taubensee (Cincinnati Reds).
Gatherings at 9:00 & 11:00 AM
Acquired in a trade with the Astros in 1994, Eddie Taubensee settled in as the Reds starting catcher for the next six seasons. One of the stronger offensive catchers in Reds history, Taubensee hit .290 or better three times as a Red, compiling a career best .311 mark in 1999. On September 4 of that same year, Taubensee hit two of the record nine home runs belted by Reds hitters in a 22-23 drubbing of the Phillies. On the season, Taubensee hit 21 home runs and drove in 87 as the Reds won 96 games and fell only one game short of a playoff berth. Taubensee played one more year with the Cincinnati Reds before finishing his career with the Indians in 2001.
We are thrilled to have Eddie Taubensee as our feature speaker on Father’s Day as he shares his challenges, his successes, and his faith. As the current Director of Baseball Ministry for The Increase, Eddie Taubensee is dedicated to telling of how God has changed his life through Christ as revealed through the game of baseball. Eddie now seeks to point others in baseball to seek Christ for themselves.
