Sermon Title: “Adjust the Mirror”
December 22, 2019
We reflect what we focus on.
Distractions cloud our ability to reflect clear reflections of our improving character.
Hiding in fear and isolation only covers up what could be redeemed.
Our desire for God must outweigh the fear of failure.
Hiding your hope diminishes how much you let its power work through you.
Even in our brokenness, we know he is working through us.
Our brokenness can become opportunities to bring us and others closer to Him.
Choosing to let our brokenness reflect Christ sets us and others free.
Jesus’ birth gave us something to adjust our focus upon.
Don’t let brokenness reflect the thing that broke you; let it magnify the One who is redeeming you.
Questions for Reflection:
What do you focus on that you could be reflecting?
What avoidable distractions keep you from focusing on the right things?
What problems or mistakes have you let define your life, rather than inform it?
How can you let a broken past reflect a redeeming future?
Are you covering your life in a veil of fear or are you allowing it to shine for others to see Christ in you?
