Sermon Title: “Beyond My Power”
September 15, 2019
1. We say, “I’m at their mercy,” but understanding whose mercy we are at makes all the difference.
2. If it’s beyond my power to control, it’s also beyond my power to screw up.
3. You don’t have complete authority, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make healthy decisions with the authority you do have.
4. By living according to God’s will in the areas that I can control I train myself to trust God in the areas that are beyond my power.
5. We build lives that are beneath our calling and create plans that contain every detail- but never take into consideration the character that we’re forming.
6. Strong is deciding that even when I have done everything I can do, and things still haven’t gone the way I want them to, that I will still do what I am called to do.
7. Strong is deciding I’m not going to use an unanticipated outcome to excuse rebellion.
8. Strong is choosing to turn failures into lessons.
9. Do you want God to move through you, or in spite of you?
