Title: “Essential Personnel Only”

Jesus saw more in them, than they saw in themselves

While everyone else is looking at what they were doing, Jesus knew what they were designed to do.

God sees more in you than you see in you.

If you life is only about yourself, it can never be bigger than yourself.

We give people help by serving them. We give people hope by pointing them to Jesus.

Love never sacrifices the moment for the eternal, and it never sacrifices the eternal for the moment. Love is always mindful of both.

Within the crisis, God still cares. Within the crisis, God still calls.

You are essential to the mission of God.

As you reflect on the message this week, use some of these questions to consider how God might be working within and around you.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Have you ever been in a situation where you felt you were nonessential?

  • What assurance do you find in the fact that Jesus chose fishermen as his disciples to carry out his work?

  • Who is God calling you to love right now?

  • What is God calling you to?
