Sermon Title: “Pick a Fight”
September 1, 2019
1. We’re often not really seeking God, we’re seeking certainty.
2. We don’t know what God will do, but if we don’t act we’ll never know.
3. Evil never waits for a sign, why does good always need one?
4. Are you willing to move on a maybe?
5. We think a mighty faith is about God blessing our plans, but what if it’s about watching God move in a place that I never would be to begin with if it wasn’t for him?
6. Faith is a willingness to move without being pushed.
7. If God is on our side, what do we have to be afraid of?
8. People don’t reject God, they reject the God they see us following.
9. There are battles you’ve been destined to win that you’ve been too afraid to fight.
10. I don’t always need a promise, sometimes the possibility that God will move is more than enough.
Questions for Reflection:
Do you find yourself more often seeking God or seeking certainty?
Have you ever moved on a maybe before? How did that experience shape you?
Would you describe your faith as level 1 faith (you avoid difficulty), level 2 faith (you embrace difficulty), or a level 3 faith (you seek out difficulty)?
Where in your life do you need to pick a fight?
