Title: “Worth It”

You cannot understand someone’s action until you understand their motivation.

The problem isn’t your level of motivation, the problem is your motive.

The call to persevere is not simply a call to keep going, but to inspect why you were doing it to begin with.

The delay decontaminates.

The parable of the lost sheep doesn’t make sense until you know the sheep that is lost.

As you reflect on the message this week, use some of these questions to consider how God might be working within and around you.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Have you ever been in a situation where you tried to muster more motivation? What were the results?

  • How does motive differ from motivation?

  • Think back on the cup illustration – what does your current cup look like?

  • What would happen if you shifted your perspective on the delays in your life; if you viewed the in between time as a time to refine your motive and decontaminate your life?

  • What would it look like to make love the primary motive in your life?
