Sermon Title: “Worth the Wait”
November 24, 2019
God’s promise is worth the wait.
Our prayer life tends to take a mentality of hurry up and wait.
To eagerly await means that kind of neck-craning, edge of your seat experience.
So how do we EA (eagerly await) when all you feel is silence?
John 16:33 – Jesus says take heart he’s overcome our struggles/issues.
We’ve been given the spoiler alert to this story.
A posture of EA allows us to not miss the blessing God intends for us at the time. What breakthrough we pray for and what breakthrough God gives won’t always jive, but God’s version is ALWAYS better.
Saturday mindset. Same Saturday after Crucifixion is the same Saturday prior to resurrection.
People who kept the Saturday prior to resurrection are those who EA, and know Gods promise. He’s kept it and it won’t stop now.
Questions for Reflection:
Can you recall a time of waiting in your life?
How have you responded in times of waiting?
Do you struggle with the silence that often accompanies waiting?
How does the reality that the Saturday after the crucifixion of Jesus was the same Saturday prior to the resurrection of Jesus change your perspective?
How can you posture yourself to eagerly await this week?
