Have you ever reached the end of the day and you feel defeated? Or have you ever found yourself saying, “What did I do today?” We get so wrapped up in our to-do list, we forget how our activity comes from our values. In this episode, we talk about how our values are a foundation to the decisions we make as leaders and how they impact our own lives, the team, and the organization.

MAIN IDEA:
To evaluate your values, you need to have values.
Values are guiding principles that determine desired outcomes in life; based upon identity.
Values are the DO because of WHO.
You must have core convictions.
Develop identity statements to give you direction.

WHAT’S AT STAKE
We become busy with meetings that don’t connect to our values.
We add to our schedule because people demand it, not because we are convicted about it.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
We must live into the person God has called us to be.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

  1. Morning Review
    • Start the day with purpose.
    • Re-orient your schedule.
    • Add meaning to your meetings.
    • Remind yourself of your purpose.
  2. Evening Evaluation
    • Know when you are winning.
    • Identify areas of improvement.
    • Ask: “Am I actually living into the person God has called me to be?”
