Luke 17:20-23
The Kingdom of Heaven is where Jesus is King. The rule of God and the will of God through the people of God in the name of Jesus is Kingdom.
Parable Jesus told about the Kingdom:
– The Hidden Treasure | Matthew 13:44
– Pearl of Great Price | Matthew 13:45-46
– Household Treasures | Matthew 13:52
– The Yeast | Matthew 13:33
– The Mustard Seed | Matthew 13:31-32
– Scattered Seed | Mark 4:26-29
– The Fishing Net | Matthew 13:47-50
Scot McKnight on the Kingdom of God: Scot McKnight: What and Where is the Kingdom of God?
Midst, in Greek is entos: Within, inside, the inside.
Kingdom requires a King.
If the Kingdom is within then I’m never without the Kingdom.
You need more of the King because there’s no Kingdom without the King.
Questions for Reflection:
How would you describe the “Kingdom of Heaven” to other people?
If the kingdom is within, then we are never without the kingdom. How does this change how we view and understand where God is working?
How do we live knowing that Jesus isn’t king yet, but there is still evidence of God everywhere? Where have you seen evidence of God working even in the midst of evil and hurt?
