It’s Too Much

Mark 8:12
Isaiah 35:5-6
Isaiah 6:1-5
Isaiah 35:8-10
God’s desire is for people to know him.
God doesn’t give us a plan, he gives us a person to follow.
The problem with a God created in our own image is he’s only as good as we can imagine.
A quick arrival means no growth.
The destination is transformation.
Questions for Reflection:
Have you ever found yourself trying to pick and choose how you want God to work? Or where you’re going to participate in faith and where you’re not?
Jesus wants us to become like Him. This doesn’t always look like we think it should, sometimes it takes some time spent in the desert to become more like Jesus. What does it mean for you when we say “it’s not just about where you’re headed, it’s about who you’re becoming”?
There are times that we cannot even imagine how incredible God and the things of God are, so we tend to tone Him down to something on our own level. What is the problem with creating God in our own image and how do we continue to re-shape our mind around how great God is?
