Willing or Not
September 1, 2024
Key Points
- God has good plans for us. We can live in the plans knowing that they are good – not easy, but good.
- God’s purpose is going to happen. Are you willing to be a part of it? You can be enthusiastic like Isaiah or you can be bitter and angry like Jonah.
- We sometimes fear being willing to say “Here I am” because he will ask you to go somewhere or do something.
- We are called to go and make disciples – to let others know about the love of God.
Discussion Questions:
1) What motivates you to do things that are challenging or uncomfortable? How does this apply to your spiritual life?
2) Isaiah eagerly volunteered to serve God, while Jonah was reluctant. Which of these attitudes do you most relate to in your own spiritual journey?
3) What holds you back from fully committing to where God is calling you? How can you overcome these barriers?
4) Where do you think God is calling you to serve right now? What fears or concerns do you have about saying “Here I am, send me” to God? How can you address these concerns?
