September 6, 2020
1 Corinthians 16:13 (ESV)
Hypocritical Action: To act in a way that is different than how you feel.
Hypocritical heart: To attempt to look different than you truly are.
The only way to become what you most deeply desire is to sometimes do what you don’t want to do.

The authenticity that Jesus is calling you to isn’t an authenticity of emotion but one of identity.
The only way to receive what we most deeply desire is to sometimes do what we don’t want to do.
If your discipleship is about you, then it can’t be about Jesus.
When our actions aren’t in line with our emotions, that’s maturity.

What purpose is currently defining your posture?
How is your current posture shaping your practices (actions)?
Do you identify more with the posture of a hypocritical heart – standing ready to be praised – or the posture of hypocritical actions – kneeling ready to receive from God?
Where is your posture off?
What reward are you seeking?
