Title: “It’s Too Close”

2 Kings 6:14-17

Is he quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a Lion.
Safe? Who said anything about safe? Of course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King. – CS Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia

Outcome-Contingent Theology: I’m with God as long as God goes in the direction I desire.

No Other God Theology: I’m with God

Romans 8:28

We need a catalyst for change.

We don’t need a perfect life because we have a perfect God.

The courage to live out your faith comes from the understanding that only is God good but that he alone is God.

The King is too close, he can only see right in front of him and so he assumes all the power rests in his hands.

We’ve So overemphasized friendship of God that we forgot the Supremacy of God.

We need a catalyst for change.

God doesn’t free you through magic, he frees you through process.

The same fire that tests your faith is the fire that burns the binding.
