Acts 15:19, Job 11:7-8, Leviticus 14:27-28, Matthew 4:19
You don’t need the Church to eat, you do to feed.
You don’t need the Church to worship, you do to see that worship is bigger than your preferences.
You don’t need the Church to be deep, you do to take up your cross.
You don’t need the Church to be Spiritual, you do to be Christian.
Regardless of the level of love, the call is the same.
You will continue to be served until you are called.
Jesus didn’t call you deeper, he called you to take up your cross.
It’s difficult to keep it from becoming difficult.
It’s easy for every group to turn inward.
It doesn’t take long for what was once an innovation to become a tradition.
Those who are plowing don’t have time to throw stones.
Questions for Reflection:
What is the difference between “going deeper” and choosing to take up your cross instead? What does taking up your cross look like? Where have you seen it done well?
It is so easy to get caught up in our own preferences and miss the goal of the church, what is the danger in this?
Being a contributing, significant member of the church changes and strengthens you. What do you miss from not being a part of the church?
What changes do you need to make? Where can you better champion calling?
