13th-9th Century BC: Israel lives in the promised land.
9th Century BC: Israel & Judah split in 2 and exist as 2 nations.
722 BC: Israel crushed by the Assyrians & taken into exile.
586 BC: Israel & Judah conquered by Babylon & taken into exile.
538: Many Jews return from Babylon.
458: Ezra returns to Israel to re-institute the observance of the law.
445: Nehemiah returns to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall.
606-536: Daniel’s ministry in the palace.
627-586: Jeremiah’s ministry with exiles in Egypt.
593-571: Ezekiel’s ministry by the river in Babylon.

Point 1: You have to like the people you are called to love.
Daniel 4:19
Jeremiah 29:5-7
Value: We serve our community

Point 2: You cannot be filled by the people you are called to lead.
Daniel 9:19-23

Point 3: Don’t leap to chapter 6.
We want to fit in more than we’re willing to stand out.
You have a bucket, and whatever it gets filled with has influence over you.
The reason why Daniel’s already ready is because he’s already full.
Greatness in faith isn’t a leap, it becomes who you are so when it’s difficult it’s not even a question.
