Find Your Edge
September 11, 2022
Instead of living on edge, you were meant to FIND YOUR EDGE– the moment where you cross the line of losing it all for the sake of becoming fully alive.
Finding your edge is…
- Working with the opportunities you do have, instead of wishing for ones you don’t.
- When God’s leading outweighs the reality of your limitations.
- Crossing the line of faith. Faith is when you risk losing it all, so you can become fully alive in Christ.
Questions for Individuals/Connect Groups:
This week we talked about Mordecai and how he wasn’t given the best situations for his life. He ended up raising his younger cousin, then had to work for the king’s court only to find out his people would die. He had a pretty tough situation from the beginning. All of us have had times when we felt the cards are stacked against us. When was a time when you doubted yourself or an outcome? Was your doubt based on things you couldn’t control?
Looking at the book of Esther, we see how Mordecai continued to look for ways to create a different outcome (even in the face of Hamman, his enemy). In the same way, we have a choice to have a different perspective during trials. What is your perspective during difficult times?
How can our perspective shape our outcome? What do you need to work on in order to have a good outcome? How much do you think God plays in changing our perspective? What do you think God can do when you ask Him to make your outlook change?
Esther took some bold steps to told Xerxes who she was, when has your authenticity been tested? How did it work out for you? What did you learn about yourself during that time?
We just had the BEST Weekend Ever at Be Hope. It was so much fun to have a blast at church. Why do you think it’s important we have fun at church?
What are some things that were your favorite from this past weekend? Why do you think God wants us to have fun?
Inviting others is a way to share the love of God. Who invited you to church and who can you invite next week? How did that change your day because of a simple invite?
Now ask God to help you see those around you that need to have more joy and fun with Jesus. Ask God to open your eyes to see those who need Him.
