1 Samuel 17: Description of Goliath & what type of champions we fall into celebrating.
Jesus’ statement on how we’re to respond to a culture that worship false champions. Matthew 20:26-28.
Questions for Reflection:
Have you ever settled for a false form of greatness, doing whatever was necessary to earn you praise, rather than allowing God to make you great?
In what ways do you celebrate the goodness of God?
The Israelites had the Ark of the Covenant to remind them of God’s way, His provision, and His authority. What reminders do you have in your own life of His presence and power?
Have you, like the priests, ever found yourself standing in the water, waiting for a miracle? How did that experience impact your faith?
Who are the priests in your life? Those who waded into the water to be an example of God’s goodness to you?
How can you be a champion, firmly planted as an example for those around you?
