We don’t see that the history of faith is also the history of doubt.
Your doubts come in phases:
– student: ways of God
– young adult: existence of God
– Adult: significance of God
– Older: love of God
Doubt isn’t the enemy of faith, it’s the context.
You are not a divine science experiment, you are a deeply loved child of God.
Faith isn’t comprehension, it’s confidence.
It is so easy in a relational paradigm to take a breach of trust in one relationship and put that on God.
Questions for Reflection:
Sometimes we create God in our own image rather than understanding we were made in the image of God. Where have you found yourself doing this in your own faith?
Where can deconstructing and rebuilding actually make your faith stronger? How does this make our faith more accurate and passionate?
Who in your life has shaped your faith journey? Where have you had people who changed how you saw God?
