1) The Veil
2) The Validated Drift
3) The Crisis
4) The Choice
A youthful enthusiasm was meant to be replaced by a mature zeal.
The veil is the thing you do to cover up when it no longer feels new.
God can’t bless who you pretend to be, only the real you.
The real crisis is comfort.
We don’t lose our faith, we slowly walk away.
We don’t have a seed problem, we have a soil problem.
To repent is to reverse the drift.
No matter ho many steps you’ve taken away from God, it only takes one step to come back to him.
Questions for Reflection:
We understand that our faith is supposed to change over time. We describe it as a “youthful enthusiasm” that is supposed to be replaced with a “mature zeal”. Where has your faith grown and changed with time?
Why is it so easy to place a veil up in our lives? What does it mean when we say that “God can’t bless who you pretend to be, only you”?
How have you reacted in the moments of crisis? Has your faith grown in these moments or been swayed?
How do we get back to “our first love”? Where do you have to choose between continuing the drift or turning back?
