- Ahava = Hebrew word for love
- Ahava is an action, a sacrifice.
- The previous standard was self-love, providing the Golden Rule. The NEW standard is not to love as you would yourself, but to love as Jesus did.
- We don’t choose feelings. We execute expectations of how to love. Actions speak louder than words.
- If we really love someone, it will be our concern that they know Christ.
Discussion Questions:
1) Think of a time in your life that someone loved you with an Ahava kind of love. How did that feel?
2) We have an opportunity AND an obligation to share God’s love with others. What is one way that you can do that this week? Who can you love better?
3) Take a few minutes to pray. Ask that you would allow God to fully love you and that you would be able to love others the same way so that you can be a living testimony of Jesus.
