Sermon Title: “My Life it Too Light”
September 20, 2020
Babylon comes from Babel which means confusion.
Your days were meant to have a meaning to them.
Your life was meant to have a weight to it.
Daniel: God is my judge —> Belteshazzar: Lady, Protect the King
Hannaniah: Yahweh has been gracious —>
Shadrach: I am fearful of God
Mishael: Who can compare to my God? No one! —>
Meshach: I am despised, contemptible, and humiliated.
Azariah: Yahweh has helped. —> Abednego: The Servant of Nebo
Courage never magically appears in the moment it is needed, it must be cultivated in advance.
John 1:12 you are loved because you are his child.
Romans 5:1 You are justified through your faith.
Romans 8 You are more than a conqueror through God.
Colossians 2:9-10 You are complete because God has given you everything you need.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 God gave your life weight.
Not every moment of your life has an equal weight to it.
The weight is a good thing.
Babylon attempts to get you to give away what can never be taken.
Your identity has already been won.
Destiny comes from Identity.
Questions for Reflection:
How does the concept of investing your time vs spending your days challenge you?
Who has left a void in your life? How did the weight of their life shape you into the person you are today?
What moments in your life have had weight to them?
What steps can you take this week to intentionally number your days and weigh your life now for the significance that God desires for you?
What name are you claiming today?
