• This weekend, Brad is talking about gossip and how it suppresses the truth. Think about a time when someone you know has suppressed a truth about you. How did that work out? What did you learn about them?
• Now discuss a time when you did that to someone else. What negative consequences came from your actions? What did you learn about yourself in that moment?
• Watch the first video link in the notes (above) and answer the following : If we understand that the first half of the book of Romans was addressing the Jewish people, how does that change our understanding of Romans 1:28?
• What are some things the Jewish people had taken for granted in the early days of the church? How does that relate to Christians today? How can we learn from that Scripture if it is talking about “religious people” of that day?
• How are we, Be Hope Church, called to something more? Do we live up to that calling? If so, what is it that helps us keep that standard? What doesn’t help and how should we adjust when we are around people who gossip?
