The Other Side Of Hope
March 31, 2024
Key Points
- The “solitary place” in your life is the tragedy that leaves you breathless.
- Compassion is the gift from God that makes you feel forgotten.
- Hope is the ability to see the redemptive side of the story.
- The miracle is the breath between tragedy (“He is not here”) and the redemptive side (“He is risen!”)
Discussion Questions:
1) What in your life right now is leaving you breathless? What is the “solitary place” that you are currently living in? Sit in it for a few minutes. What feelings does it bring up? Anxiety? Hopelessness? Despair? Fear?
2) What’s God doing in your life now because you decided to keep breathing? What’s the redemptive part of your story because you didn’t show up?
3) Spend time in prayer. Thank God that the cross was not the end of the story. Rejoice that He was not done writing the story of salvation at the cross, and rejoice that He is not done writing YOUR story. Pray for strength to keep showing up and for eyes to see where God is working and where He is working redemption.
Key Points
- “There” doesn’t exist because “there” is always changing.
- We compromise our values, our character, and our integrity to get “there”.
- There is only “here”. God has already given us everything we need and more.
- The inheritance we receive is the power of God.
Discussion Questions:
1) When we believe in Jesus, we have access to the power of God. What has the power of God been doing through you in the last week? Month? Year? How have you seen God’s power displayed in your life?
2) Where have you seen God’s power at work in the lives of other people? Has it been easier to see God’s power at work in other people or in yourself?
3) Who can you invite to church next weekend for Easter? Write the name down. Pray for the confidence and opportunity to make the invite!
