Dusty Sturk
Dusty joined the Be Hope Church staff in October of 2015 as the Creative Arts Pastor.
Dusty is an Ohio native, living in and around Dayton for the last ten years. He met his wife, Nicole, at Wright State University, where he finished his BA. in Music Performance. He is currently working towards finishing his MATS at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Dusty and Nicole have one child: Declan, and a Great Dane named Charlie. He is passionate about all things musical and theological, and loves to spend time recording, writing and listening to music. His other passion is in the “coffee arts”, and Dusty spends much of his time roasting his own coffee, finding new ways to brew it, and practicing his barista skills.
Above all else, Dusty desires to help to enable the Church to worship freely and passionately, whether that is within the local church, or partnering with other churches across Dayton to see that vision fulfilled.
Phil Jackson
After many years in retail store management, he felt called to pursue his passion for people and leadership. Serving in this role allows him to use his operational skills while pouring into those around him and serving the mission of the church.
While attending youth group at a friend’s church he met his future wife Christy. Together they have two amazing children, Cameron and Avery. Phil enjoys listening to all types of music, all the sports and spending time with his family. While at church, you can find him back with the kids ministry, ripping up carpet or sharing a good joke.
Sheila Slone
She lives in Beavercreek with her husband, JC, and daughters, Morgan and Molly.
As the Beavercreek Campus Pastor, Sheila is passionate about empowering people to live out their purpose.
JC Slone
Hailing from Hampton, VA, JC resides in Beavercreek with his wife, Sheila, and two daughters, Morgan and Molly. He enjoys bike riding on the amazing bike paths throughout the community and Yellow Springs, cooking, reading (non-fiction only, please), watching movies, and playing sports. In fact, it’s a little-known fact that JC can juggle. When not at work or at least up at the church (which is rare), JC enjoys anywhere that it’s warm, there is sand between his toes, and the sound of the ocean can be heard.
Kiesha Plaskett
Having graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 2006, Kiesha accepted her first ministry assignment in Lansing, MI at South Church of the Nazarene. She met Codi at SouthNaz and they were married in 2008 on the island of Maui.
The Plasketts moved to Ohio in 2014 to be a part of Be Hope Church. And although Michigan still holds their heart, they’ve learned that Ohio isn’t as bad as ALL the jokes they’ve heard!
Kiesha loves to spend time with her husband and their growing family. She loves a good movie, an intriguing mystery, listening to Fall Out Boy and Twenty One Pilots on repeat, working in the yard, and a really great meal!

Haley loves traveling, the St. Louis Cardinals, reading, watching movies, petting dogs, and anything Taco Bell. She is so excited to connect with the kids, teens, and young adults here at Be Hope Church and believes that the best way to do this is to create environments where students can be authentic with their friends and their amazing small groups leaders.

She joined the NextGen team (Beavercreek Campus) in August 2019. She has a passion for preschoolers and teaching them how much God loves them. Connecting with families is very important to her and she wants to partner with you in teaching God’s word to your preschooler. Laying a strong foundation for your child’s faith is the goal of NextGen Ministries.
Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their 4 girls. They enjoy the outdoors, camping, and movie nights. Her favorite color is all shades blue and favorite food is all things Mexican! After moving to Dayton (by way of Cedarville University), it was a challenge finding a church that was the right fit. Drawn to Be Hope’s community presence, Heather joined the staff in 2003 as the receptionist. Today, as the Director of Guest Experience, the values she learned early on allow Heather and her amazing team to ensure a great experience for everyone who walks through the doors for weekend worship.
Heather’s interests include leadership development podcasts, great coffee, ethnic cuisine, & spending time with her husband, Rob, and 17 year old cockatiel, Elvis. As the Development Director for the Be Hope Immigration Center, you’ll often find Heather learning as much as she can about non profit management and fundraising.
